Since 2008, the State Archives of Cosenza have been housed in the former Domenico Moro Barracks, a monumental complex of conventual origin located on Corso Plebiscito, on the northern bank of the Crati River. This site, founded in February 1510 by the religious order of the Minimi of St. Francis of Paola, stands as a testament to its historical and architectural significance.

The convent, believed to be the first established after the saint's passing, features a grand quadrangular design centered around a magnificent square cloister with six bays on each side. Its strategic position bridges the divide between the historic heart of the city and the new one.
