The Study Hall is where visitors consult the documents preserved in the State Archives.
Access is free of charge for the public on weekday mornings and during designated afternoon hours.
The documents preserved at the State Archives of Cosenza are freely available for consultation, with the exception of reserved materials, for which authorization from the Ministry of Internal Affairs is required (see Regulations).
To use the institute’s services, visitors must complete an access request form and submit it to the hall staff. If any changes occur to the declared information, the request must be updated.
The daily limit for consulting materials is twelve units, with a maximum of two units at a time.
For assistance, visitors may contact the staff on duty in the Study Hall. Additional resources, such as guides to the collections and various research tools (inventories, indexes, databases), are also available to visitors.
Visitors are permitted to use personal devices such as laptops, recorders, and digital cameras, provided that no risk of document damage arises.
Visitors may also use the Archival Material Reservation Service and the Reproduction Service offered by the administration. These services include digital reproductions, microfilm copies, and photocopies.
To enhance their archival research in the Study Hall, visitors may also consult the specialized library, which focuses on archival studies, history, and local culture.
Visitors using State Archives material for publication purposes are required to submit three copies of their work to the Archives (one copy in the case of university theses).
For more information, consult the Institute’s updated Regulations (May 2024).
